The Aesthetics of War Discourse in the Poetry of Al-Ḥārith Ibn ʿAbbād al-Bakrī.

This study seeks to uncover the deep structures upon which the aesthetics of war discourse in the poetry of al-Ḥārith ibn ʿAbbād are founded. His style is distinguished by a force generated from the contrast of positions that evolved into an individual cultural discourse endowed with artistic value and charged with a set of concepts and visions. Through this discourse, he brings together war discourse—despite its apparent chaos—and chivalry in its profound sense, encompassing courage, generosity, wisdom, and justice. In doing so, he portrays the inner stirrings of his psyche, documenting through his creative poetic lens a cultural discourse that represents the course of events bound to his harsh reality, as fate cast upon him what he did not desire. The significance of this lies in the direct reflection of these circumstances on his cultural, social, and political life, in accordance with the workings of the poetic imagination, through which they are transformed into a literary creation with distinctive cultural and semantic trajectories.
