The French enslavers paid great attention to studying the Prophet’s biography, writing books about it, and shedding light on it, according to their point of view and their extrapolation of its events, which are considered the most important elements of the Islamic religion and its tolerant law, after the Book of God Almighty - the Holy Qur’an - as it is the main source of the Prophet’s Sunnah, and it is the second source of Islamic legislation. The opinions of the French explorers included multiple tendencies, some of which were moderate, some were fanatical, and others tried to be as neutral as possible, and they were reflected in their writings about the life of the Prophet Muhammad, may God bless him and his family. Among these is the orientalist Emile Drummingham, who devoted a book entitled (The Muhammadan Personality, Biography and Journey), in which he reviews the life of the Prophet Muhammad, may God bless him and his family and grant them peace, in his own way and method.
