Abstract

The study investigates the relationship between creative thinking and university students’ use of artificial intelligence (AI) applications among individuals aged 18 to 22 years. To achieve this aim, the researcher developed the Academic Artificial Intelligence Applications Usage Scale, consisting of 23 items designed to assess students’ academic engagement with AI. In addition, Huda Al-Anzi’s Creative Thinking Skills Scale was employed, comprising 30 items distributed across two dimensions: change and adaptation, and planning and implementation. The study sample included 200 students, and the collected data were statistically analyzed. The findings indicated a high level of interest in using AI applications, alongside variation in creative thinking skills. Furthermore, the results revealed a weak but statistically significant positive correlation between AI application use and creative thinking. The study concludes by emphasizing the importance of systematically integrating AI applications into university education to promote self-learning and enhance creative thinking.
