Abstract

The issue of language acquisition has occupied a significant place in philosophy in general, and contemporary linguistic philosophy in particular. Childhood is a fundamental stage in human life. Throughout life, a person is influenced by the environment in which they live. This stage represents the fundamental building block in shaping their personality, formation, and education. Chomsky is considered the most important linguist of his time, to the point that he has been called the "father of modern linguistics." He presented a new vision of language that saved humanity from the behaviorist view, which viewed human mental capacity as mechanical, like a machine. This contrasts with Chomsky's view of humanity, which gave flexibility to humans and not to any other creature. A child can begin with short words and then form sentences over a period of time, creating a large number of sentences for the purpose of communicating with those around him, such as his mother, father, and family members. Acquisition goes through several interconnected developments and stages, and a child's age is an important factor in language acquisition. When a child reaches the age of six, they learn and practice language. This is a characteristic that distinguishes humans from other creatures. This is what Chomsky called the "language acquisition system."
