This study examines the status of health services in Iraq from a human geography perspective and their impact on population stability. It analyzes the spatial distribution of health institutions, medical staff, and service pressure indicators across Iraqi governorates. The study adopts the descriptive-analytical approach, the spatial geographical approach, and the quantitative statistical approach, based on official data, particularly the 2024 Health Indicators Report. The findings reveal clear spatial disparities in the distribution of health services, as the number of health institutions does not always correspond to population size or actual service demand. The results also show high service pressure in some densely populated governorates, compared with relatively weak indicators of physicians and primary health care centers in others. The study concludes that spatial justice in the distribution of health services is a planning necessity for supporting population stability and balanced development in Iraq.
