The Effect of a Concise, Solution-Focused Counseling Approach on Reducing School Dropout Among Middle School Students

The current research aims to identify the impact of brief, solution-centered counseling on middle school students. Previous studies addressing school dropout were reviewed, leading to the development of a 30-item school dropout scale. For the purposes of this study, the researcher designed a counseling program based on the impact of brief, solution-centered counseling. This program was implemented with the experimental group in nine sessions, held twice weekly, with each session lasting 45 minutes. Data were analyzed using SPSS software and several statistical methods. The results showed that the counseling program effectively reduced school dropout rates among the experimental group. Based on these findings, the current research offers several conclusions, recommendations, and suggestions
