Efficiency of the Spatial Distribution of Community Services and Infrastructure in Ayn Al-Tamur City

This study addresses the spatial analysis of the distribution of services (community services and infrastructure), with the city of Ain al-Tamur in Karbala Governorate selected as a case study. The research aims to assess the current status of service distribution, its efficiency, and its compliance. Both analytical and descriptive methodologies were employed. The findings indicate a significant shortage of services in light of high population density, which has resulted in reduced efficiency and an overall inability to meet the city’s growing needs. Estimates show that Ain al-Tamur requires two additional primary schools, while the available school areas remain below the minimum planning standards. The study concludes by recommending the necessity of adhering to planning criteria in order to achieve higher levels of efficiency in service distribution. It further emphasizes the importance of accounting for population distribution when establishing institutions, thereby ensuring the provision of sustainable services for future generations.
