Abstract

The present study explores the effectiveness of using the Extended Reality (XR) strategy in learning Educational Technology to enhance university students’ future thinking. XR integrates real and virtual environments to create interactive 3D settings that improve concept comprehension and develop future-oriented skills. Using an experimental design with 45 students, the study compared an experimental group using XR with a control group using traditional methods. Results showed significant improvement in achievement and future thinking abilities, confirming the importance of integrating XR technologies into curricula to enhance learning quality and higher-order thinking. The study concludes that XR-based interactive environments strengthen academic performance and foster innovative thinking. Findings indicate that the XR strategy enhances students’ ability to think in multiple ways. Recommendations include providing educational resources supporting XR-based learning and conducting future research on technologies such as interactive content and multimedia to address students’ educational and psychological challenges effectively.
