Abstract

Objectives: This study aims to explore the role of television talk shows in shaping the cultural identity of Iraqi women.

Methodology: The research is descriptive and uses a survey method. The sample consisted of 100 randomly selected Iraqi women who watch talk shows on satellite TV channels.

Findings: Talk shows play a significant role in developing Iraqi women’s awareness by addressing key issues such as women's rights, equality in education and work, and protection. These programs foster acceptance and positive engagement among women, as they reflect their needs and real-life experiences. The impact of talk shows was balanced, presenting both positive and negative images. Programs with objective and diverse content were more effective, offering a realistic portrayal of social issues. Such balanced coverage enhances the influence of talk shows, helping to raise awareness and address women's concerns more comprehensively.
