The Poetic Phenomenon of the Marginalized in the Abbasid Era: Unveiling the Silenced in Shadow Texts

Poets employ various techniques in crafting their literary works. Marginalized poets, in particular, resorted to the strategy of the "unspoken" within the implicit structure of the literary text, driven by fear of the oppressive power of rulers and authorities. It thus became necessary for them to adopt this approach in their poetic compositions, entrusting the reader with the task of uncovering the deeper layers of the text, probing its content, and discerning its hidden meanings. This study examines the concept of the "unspoken" in the works of marginalized poets, beginning with a definition of the term and an exploration of its manifestations—particularly in the political and social domains. The poets utilized the "unspoken" as a vehicle to express their political views and the ensuing economic repercussions that shaped the social conditions of the people. As such, the unspoken became one of the most vital strategies employed by these poets in their poetry.
