Peer Review Process

Overview

All manuscripts submitted to the Wasit Journal for Humanities undergo a rigorous peer review process to ensure the quality, originality, and academic relevance of the published research.

Review Procedure

- Every submitted article will be independently reviewed by three reviewers chosen from outside the authors’ institutions to guarantee independence.
- The journal applies the Double‑Blind method, meaning both authors and reviewers remain anonymous to each other.
- Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on:
 1. Originality and scientific contribution
 2. Methodological rigor
 3. Quality of academic writing and analysis

Decision Process

After review, there are four kinds of editorial decisions based on the reviewers’ recommendations:
> Accept Submission: The submission will be accepted without revisions.
> Revisions Required: The submission will be accepted after minor changes have been made.
> Resubmit for Review: The submission needs to be re-worked, with significant changes; it will require a second round of review but may be accepted.
> Decline Submission: The submission will not be published in the journal.
The Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision based on the reviewers’ reports.

Conflict of Interest

- Reviewers must disclose any potential conflicts of interest.
- Authors’ institutional affiliations are checked to prevent reviewers from having direct ties to the submitting authors.

Review Timeline

- Reviewers are expected to submit their reports within 4–8 weeks to ensure timely publication.

Transparency & Ethics

- The journal maintains strict confidentiality throughout the review process.
- Ethical guidelines, including plagiarism checks, authorship verification, and fair treatment of all submissions, are strictly enforced.
