Abstract

This paper uses a CDA approach to investigate how Fox News reporters convey the current war between US-Israel and Iran that started on February 28, 2026. It aims to examine the ideological implications that Fox News reporters convey when reporting the news. The study hypothesizes that Fox News reporters are not neutral but show a bigoted and biased ideology towards the conflicting parties. This study uses Van Dijk’s (1998) model of ‘ideological square,’ and the analysis is limited to investigating selected discourse features that are of importance in the data under study. Finally, the study concludes with some conclusions that validate the hypotheses.
